Hi, I’m Jess & I am so happy you’re here.

“Maybe the hell I went through was preparing me to walk beside you through yours. Lighting the way, and reminding you that a hard past doesn’t disqualify you.”

These are the people I call home.

What made you start writing?

When I was sixteen I started writing poetry as a release for what I was going through at home. Shortly after writing became not only my lifeline but also my way to connect with others. I never want another person to feel alone or unloved like I did for many years.

Favorite bible verse.

Actually, I just found a new one this morning during a bible study by Jess Connolly, You are the girl for the job. I had never heard it before and it stopped me in my tracks. John 15:18-19

Who are you writing for?

Well, I usually write to others what I need or want to hear myself. I’m writing to anyone who needs the reminder that a difficult past doesn’t mean God doesn’t love them. And, I am writing for God, to reveal his truth for anyone whose ever felt lost like I once did.

Favorite woman in the bible.

I hate to say it is a tie but it is. I love the Samaritan woman at the well but I also have a deep pull to Mary Magdalene too.

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” John 15:18-19

“Totally Jessifiable is a TRUE blessing to me. On days I need to hear something positive or a reminder that I am loved by our Lord, her post finds it’s way to my heart. Thank you, Jess, your words are an inspiration.”

“I cannot begin to express how meaningful Jessica’s posts and blog are to me. Each one speaks to me on such personal levels, and her perspective shines a new light on those topics that are difficult. She shares the raw, emotional, and her insights on how her walk with Christ has changed her life. She has no problem baring her deepest darkest moments in her life because she always shares her triumphs along with them. Her words of wisdom have given me strength and encouragement, even in my worst moments. Her posts always seem to come at just the right time. I will literally say a prayer for some insight or guidance and low and behold her post will appear. I have no doubt who is answering my questions and prayers through Jessica.”

Jesus Heals In the Gap

As I was in the shower that thought came flooding back with this download. Holy Spirit showed me that in that gap was Jesus literally holding us, healing us, and making us whole again because what God removes he replaces and he can’t do that until we are whole. We are our own worst enemy occasionally working against God by doing his work for him.

The Unpolished Christian

Sitting on the shoreline I could see Jesus writing in the sand and showing how the water washes the lines away as a representation of sin when we bring it to his feet. He shows me an unpolished cup with his fingerprints all over it and how one would think it needs polished, but really its proof of his craftsmanship. He explains that often times we apply something topical before we polish – instead of cleansing anyway so what truly is the point? Why not leave the fingerprints? The scars? The imperfections? and trust him to work on those with us. Not to mention that is where our testimonies lay, and the opportunity to highlight his grace in restoring lives.
