Hi, I’m Jess & I am so happy you’re here.

“Maybe the hell I went through was preparing me to walk beside you through yours. Lighting the way, and reminding you that a hard past doesn’t disqualify you.”

These are the people I call home.

FAQ

What made you start writing?

When I was sixteen I started writing poetry as a release for what I was going through at home. Shortly after writing became not only my lifeline but also my way to connect with others. I never want another person to feel alone or unloved like I did for many years.

Favorite bible verse.

Actually, I just found a new one this morning during a bible study by Jess Connolly, You are the girl for the job. I had never heard it before and it stopped me in my tracks. John 15:18-19

Who are you writing for?

Well, I usually write to others what I need or want to hear myself. I’m writing to anyone who needs the reminder that a difficult past doesn’t mean God doesn’t love them. And, I am writing for God, to reveal his truth for anyone whose ever felt lost like I once did.

Favorite woman in the bible.

I hate to say it is a tie but it is. I love the Samaritan woman at the well but I also have a deep pull to Mary Magdalene too.

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” John 15:18-19
